"A Moment's Rest"
watercolor on paper
for sale through the North East Watercolor Society

I recently was made aware that my painting, "A Moment's Rest" was awarded the Sharon A. Thomas Memorial Award for Transparent Watercolor at the North East Watercolor Society's 2013 International Exhibit in Kent, CT.  I am most grateful and honored.  The exhibit runs until November 3rd, so if you are in the area, plan on visiting.  Visit The Gallery at Kent for gallery hours.  For more information about the North East Watercolor Society visit their site.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

  1. Congratulations Kara! It is well deserved! Often more quiet, serene paintings are not noticed in juried shows when compared to louder neighbors which, with their brighter colors and hard-edged shapes, commanded instant attention. I always thought your paintings like ths one are truly artful and brings a sense of peace and grace to everyday existence. It takes time -- time standing in front them and reflect to truly appreciate their beauty. I am so thrilled that they are recognized for their true quality by the judge. This says again that true gold will always shine. Congratulations my friend. I am so happy to hear ths news.

    1. Thank you so much Arena. You are very sweet and a good friend. You always say such nice things. :)

  2. This is just beautiful. I love the calm....
