My Other Life . . .

panel -- 4' x 8'

Not only am I having withdrawals from watercolor painting . . . but now I think I'm suffering from blog anxiety.  :)  So I had to post and at least show you that I'm not just sitting around eating junk all day.  (Well at least not ALL day, maybe just part of the day). This is the panel I'm working on -- one of the two major projects that have kept me busy. It's a naive style painting and will look old by the time I finish it. Our town seal will go in the circle at the top -- and the rest represents different buildings and areas of my town.  I'm planning to be done by the end of the weekend.  So if all goes as planned . . . next week = watercolors!  Yippee!

Away

I'm suffering from blog withdrawals I think.  It's been too long since I last posted . . . I've had a very busy few weeks.  So many more chores in the summer it seems and I'm working on a few projects that unfortunately don't allow me to paint in watercolor (although I am painting and being creative -- so that's good) . . . and the deadlines are fast approaching.  I hope that I can squeeze some watercolor this week though, as I have a few paintings in progress that just need a little more attention.  So hopefully you'll see something new up here this week -- I'll try my best.   In the meantime, I hope you all are enjoying yourselves -- the weather here has been FANTASTIC!  :)

Annie's Retreat

"Quiet"
7.5" x 10"

I did this painting from a photo I took the other day at my friend Annie's house.  Her bedroom is off the kitchen and always looks so inviting, with the bright sunlight streaming through the windows on her white bedspread.  It's very comforting.  I always tell her that she may come home someday to find me napping!  So here's to you, Annie and Carl!  (We can't forget her husband Carl now, can we?)

Amherst College Octagon

Amherst College Octagon
watercolor on Arches cold-pressed watercolor board
5" x 7"

Just finished this little watercolor today.  I took little trip with my neighbor the other day and we had a nice lunch and did some drawing and picture taking at my ol' alma mater.  It was a lovely day -- thanks Annie!  :)
