All "Dressed Up" With Somewhere To Go

"Dressed Up"
8" x 8"
(watercolor on aquabord)

This little ditty will soon be heading to its "forever home." I enjoy painting packaging and this one was no exception. This commission is joining five other paintings I painted for this collector last year. I'm sure it will fit right in. Here's the rest of "the family."

Many thanks to my collector.  This was such a fun series to paint!

Have a terrific weekend.

Nora

"Nora"
8" x 10"
(watercolor on aquabord)

While this little lady is no longer here on earth, I'm sure she is spending time in doggy heaven looking down upon her mom and still protecting her. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to paint Nora -- many thanks to my collector. This one was a pure joy to paint.

Have a great start to your week!

Cracker Jacks

"Aye-Aye"
8" x 8"
(watercolor on cradled aquabord)

This old "Cracker Jack" box is a commissioned piece, however I chose to do two paintings from it and let the client choose which one she likes best.  I'll let you know which one she prefers. Which one do you like best?

I'm still messing around with some of the type on the painting above.  I want to tweak "Cracker Jack" just a bit. I love typography but it can be very difficult for me.

Have a great day!

Remember These?

A few weeks ago I gave you a couple of "sneak peeks" of the commission I was working on.  Well here are the "peeks" and their finished paintings.  These are the final two of the group of five paintings.

It's been a bit of crazy week so far and I admittedly haven't done much painting --- gaaaahh! So nothing much to show. But I'm gearing to get back on track tonight.

"Peanut Butter Portrait"
8" x 8"
(watercolor on aquabord)
SOLD

"Marinara"
8" x 8"
(watercolor on aquabord)
SOLD

Here is the final commission all together.  I think they're pretty neat.  Have a great rest of the day!

I'm not yet able to share the full images of commissioned pieces, but here's a little sneak peek of one to prove I've been working and not just lounging around by the pool all day.  :)

It's been a glorious summer.  Have a great day!

Weekend Progress

My husband's uncle celebrated his 70th birthday over the weekend so we took a ride up to New Hampshire, to join family at Dan's cousin's lake house on Saturday.  What a great day!  The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and the company even better.

I was able to sneak in a little painting time and made bit more progress on my commission.  So now all four paintings are well on their way.

Happy Monday, I hope you all have a great start to your week!

Lily

"Lily"

I received word last night that the recipient of this commissioned piece had his birthday celebration a little early, so it's now safe for me to post "Lily." Check out her little snaggletooth!  Hilarious.  Many thanks to my client and a very happy birthday to Brian!  I hope he enjoys his painting.

Have a lovely start to the week!

Safe To Publish

"Hello, Mr. Chips"
8" x 8"
(watercolor on aquabord)

I suppose it's safe to publish this painting now.  This was a surprise birthday gift commission, but since the special day has come and gone, I figure it's okay that I share this latest painting.  It was a lot of fun to do -- challenging too.  I hope the birthday girl enjoys it!  Many thanks to my client.

Back to the drawing board.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peek #2

Commission in Progress - sneak peek

I'm pretty certain that the recipient of this little surprise commission doesn't check in with my blog and even so, wouldn't recognize this sneak peek.  This painting is coming together pretty well.  I made a lot of progress on it in just one sitting.  I do love painting animals.  Ooohh . . . did I give away too much!?  Ha!

Have a lovely day and thanks for taking a sneak peek at my blog.  :)

Approval!

"Backlit Birches"
50" x 40"
watercolor on aquabord

Hello all . . . I had a fantastic meeting on Friday with my clients who commissioned this painting for their new home . . . and everyone is happy! Yippee!  So this is its official unveiling.

This painting is very large, so unfortunately photographing it is a little difficult - you don't really get all the details, but hopefully you get the idea.  I'm pleased with it and think it's pretty cool in person (if I do say so myself).  :)  Might I add that I'm very grateful to Lynn and my clients  -- this has been a wonderful experience: thank you, thank you, thank you.  I grew so much as an artist and am excited to try my hand at some very large aquabord watercolors in the very near future.  Below are some photos from early on.  I think it's neat to see the way paintings evolve.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by.
