Below is the first post of this painting from today.  The lemon was too weird looking for me.  It looked wavy and was still too light.  Lemons are hard for me.  :)  I think the revised version above is better. Although I just altered it slightly (AGAIN) on the right side to round it out just a little more so that it doesn't look cock-eyed.  I have to get ready for company so I don't have time to post the final-final but I'll try to do it later tonight.  I think I've finally solved the crooked problem . . . I hope.  Oy!

I'm sitting here typing and looking at that lemon and it's bugging me.  I have this up for auction, but I need to go back and fix that lemon!  Ugh!  Will this painting never end?  Stay tuned . . .

I've updated this post, couldn't get to it last night though.  Below is the updated detail of the more "rounded" lemon.

  1. Hello Kara:) I'm very curious what it is that is bugging you? I can't find it! I love it like it is. Very nice!

    1. Thank you Renate . . . the lemon looked crooked to me. I think I finally remedied that though. Thank you for your kind remarks. :)

  2. Hard to say which way was the best, the new photo seem to be a bit darker overall than the previous one. It looks good either way.

    1. Thanks Roger . . . it's tough to always get the color, balance and contrast right on the computer. But I think overall, this painting is darker. No real white whites, except on the cloth on the bottom left and on the teacup. I think it makes it a quiet painting.

  3. Vous êtes si perfectionniste et donc si soucieuse du détail... j'aime ça mais sachez que le travail que j'aperçois est naturellement merveilleux.

... et pour moi c'est l'heure du thé ! sourire...
    Gros bisous.

    1. Ha! Thank you Martine Alison! :) Yes . . . I do dabble with the details! Sometimes it's maddening, but mostly enjoyable. (This one got a little maddening I must admit.) Hope you enjoyed your tea!

  4. Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. I love it! I agree with you - lemons ARE hard to do. I've gone back many times on ones I've done, so I definitely do empathise. In the end, this is a beauty, and I love it.
    Thanks for sharing.
