"Tulip" (6" x 6") Sold |
(what this painting could look like framed) |
On Fridays I teach watercolor classes and one of my students brought some tulips in to work on. I don't normally paint florals (if you'd like to look at some AMAZING ones do check out fellow bloggers Jacqueline Gnott and Arena Shawn's galleries) but I gave it a whirl anyway. It was a fun departure for me. Hope you all had a good weekend!
I really like the bright pinks against the dark background, the flowers really jump out of the painting. So nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria.
DeleteThank you for the kind words, Kara! I think your tulip is very beautiful -- I love the sense of form and texture of the pedal created by your glazing technique, which always make me envy. It'll be nice to sit with you one day and see your class demo if I have a chance :-) And -- I'm glad I'm not the only one who's got tulip fever!
ReplyDeleteKaren, it's very pretty. Put's the one I'm working on to shame.
ReplyDeleteYou should paint some more florals, or in corporate some in your still life set ups, you did a wonderful job. I think we're all ready for Spring:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie . . . you're very nice. I was on your blog and saw your beautiful florals. REALLY terrific! Kind of wanted to come back and delete my post! :) But I like the idea of incorporating some flowers into my still life set ups. Thanks for the idea.
DeleteBeautiful work Kara. :) I really love your subtle use of color. And ditto what Carrie said about more florals. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you Crystal . . . you're very nice. :)
