Fussing

Untitled
8"x 8"
(watercolor on paper)

Here's a little "sketch" I worked on all day today.  :)  I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it . . . I think I just need to "sit on it" a bit.  There are lots of elements I really like about it, while others not so much.  Honestly though, I think it actually looks better in person -- is that the painting equivalent of "he/she's got a great personality?"  Ha!  Anyway, I'll be contemplating what to do with it.

A progress shot is below . . . thank you for stopping by.

Done?

I cranked up some more contrast on this today - painting in darker washes in both the background and even on the lamp in area. I also played with temperature, cooling the background to help it recede and warming up the lamp. I am "baby-stepping" this painting, to say the least. Maybe someday it will be done. I love the way it looks on my monitor, unfortunately I have to do a little more tweaking to play with the contrasting values, so it matches this in person.  Unfortunately though, outside the window isn't as light in person, as it appears here.  :(   I'll have to see what I can do about that, because I love how it looks on the computer.  :)

Anyway, thank you for stopping by.

Delivery

"Really Big Shoe"
. . . all framed and ready to go!

Before spending a great day today with my 90-year old grandmother (who ran me ragged, by the way!)  :)  . . . I dropped off these two paintings in Monson, MA for the Monson Art Council's Spring Show.  The opening reception is next weekend, so if you're in the area be sure to come by - the exhibit will be open for a few weekends after.  More information is available at their website.

"Nature's Candy"
(not sure how this is appearing on your screens - I had a tough time making it look
okay on mine, so hopefully it doesn't look TOO crazy on your monitor)

I'm Still Working

Even though I haven't posted, I just wanted to prove that I've been working.  :)  This one is going quite slowly, as I tweak all those reflections and details. I'm also still working on the overall feeling I want this painting to have, so every time I put another wash over the background I have to go back and re-work some details.  No biggie . . . just time consuming.

Thank you for taking a peek.

Still More Work To Do

Thought I'd share my progress.  Also, below are some pictures from my last 5-week watercolor class at Workshop13 in Ware.  I had a great time with "my ladies" -- and I think you'll agree they did a fabulous job painting glass.  It's a difficult subject and they handled it beautifully!

My next class will be about painting on aquabord and we begin on Tuesday, April 15th.  What better way to spend tax day, eh?  :)

The following painting will be the subject of my upcoming aquabord class.  I'm already getting excited!  Thank you for stopping by.

I've been buy working on some other projects, but managed to get in some time on "Crystal Skyline."  I hope to have it done by tomorrow.  Hope you all are well!   Thank you for taking a peek.
