Before the Scramble

"Before the Scramble"
4" x 6"
Sold

Heya!  Well this is exciting . . . I finished this painting the other day and posted it yesterday to Daily Paintworks and it already sold!  So thank you very much to the collector who bought it -- I am most appreciative.  Let it be known that I appreciate all of you who have purchased my work or left kind comments.  I'm VERY grateful.

Anyway . . . you'll notice that the orientation of this painting is different from the last post of it.  I guess it can be viewed either way.  I still have to sign it, so I'll have to pick one . . . but I'll sign it somewhere that lends itself to either orientation.  So that's all for now . . . I'm working on some 4" x 6" paintings for a charity event . . . this would've been one of them had it not sold . . . but what a delightful predicament to be in, having to paint more, eh?  I'm very lucky. Have a great day!

Embossing . . . gaaaaahhhh!

I'm working on this little ditty -- a 4" x 6" study on reflections and embossed surfaces.  Ugh.  The plate (actually a bowl) is embossed with little flowers that I can't seem to capture.  I've already scrubbed them out once and tried again . . . and am still working on them.  I'm determined to get this, but it's so hard for me.  Every time I have them in a painting I struggle.  Sometimes I hit it, but I'd like to be more consistent.  So stay tuned . . .

Oh -- but before I go . . . Crystal Cook sent me this link (click here) that 100% accurately reflects my Zumba experience.  I LOVE it!  Thanks Crystal!  :)

Happy New Year!

"Insight Into My Sole"
12" x 16"

"Egg On A Plate"
23" x 23"

So I'm finally posting again.  I hope you all had wonderful holidays. Best wishes for a very happy and healthy New Year to you as well.  I took quite the hiatus, eh?  But I'm motivated and inspired and ready to paint.  While I don't have anything new to show, I've been planning out some new paintings and have a couple that are just about finished.  I've also been working on a commission.  It's very different from my watercolors -- part of my "other life" -- a tavern sign in a more early American naive style.  It's been fun and a nice departure.  I also have another commission after that -- a home portrait in acrylics.  So I'll be busy.

In the meantime I just entered the two slightly older paintings (above) in the Concord Art Association members show.  We'll see how they do -- it's juried so there's a good chance they may not even make it in.  Gaaahhhh!  I'll keep my fingers crossed.  I would preferred to have entered something newer, but the good news is many have sold.  :)  So I must get busy painting away!

Have a great day . . . and I promise I'll be back soon with some new work.  Cheers!
