"Princeton Barn" 9" x 12" (watercolor on aquabord) |
Oh the hours I've spent on this little ditty. I'm throwing my hands up in the air and calling "uncle." I don't know what to think. I'm happy with some parts, but disappointed with others. It was a good learning experience but I'm just going to sit on it for a while . . . at least for the weekend.
Perhaps I'll crop it into a square:
"Princeton Barn" - cropped into an 8" x 8" |
Or crop it even so that only my favorite part shows -- that tree on the side - ha!
"Princeton Barn" - detail |
Any thoughts?
The 9" x 12" is the one!
ReplyDeleteOnly you know what you wanted to achieve; we, the viewer, sees only a lovely painting - the muted palette allows the sunlight to be really effective.
I agree about the 9" x 12" version. It is luminous! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the original. How you've done the branches of that trees and the softness of it all....the light Yes that tree on the right carries a lot of weight. Shame it's so straight or something.. but it's the only thing that bugs my eye when I look at it. Thanks for sharing your stuff
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare crop it! :)
ReplyDeletei love the whole thing
ReplyDeleteKara, it's gorgeous. Don't crop it.
