I just finished this today and thought I'd post. Oh and I've started another basket! Call me "crazy" -- but this time it's on aquabord so we'll see how it goes. I must say, I'm already having a better time with it. Thanks for stopping by.  Cheers!

  1. Oh, you are really on a roll, Kara! This one turned out beautifully -- I love the addition of the pussy willows and it totally changed the entire composition. Now there is a beautiful "L" shaped movement which both stabilized the whole composition, and added additional interest for the eye to linger. It also added life and hint of spring to the painting. Now the jug no longer seems isolated, instead it is linked to the bigger shapes of the window and the chest... Good catch Kara! I also really love the graceful, sober colors which glows from within, and you can only achieve this by layers and layers of glaze! It reminded me of some of Wyeth's winter still life... I must say it is this type of very quiet still life paintings that are my favorite of all paintings.

  2. So beautiful! I love the texture in the cloth and the reflections on the jug. The pussy willow brought life to the painting. Great job!
