Departure

5" x 5"
Daily Paintworks Challenge - acrylic

I needed to get into the painting groove again after about a week off so I checked out the Daily Paintworks Challenge and decided to give it a whirl.  You can view the challenge here.  In any case, I decided to try my hand at a quick acrylic.  But I MUST get back to my watercolors tomorrow.  I've just GOT to finish those crazy tomatoes!

Oh and in some other news, my painting "Strawberries" was juried into the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts 100th Exhibition in Mystic, CT today.  That show runs May 27th through July 16th at the Mystic Arts Center.  So if you can, check it out, it's a really wonderful exhibit - so much talent - and if you've never been to Mystic -- it's beautiful!

  1. I just saw your entry for the value challenge and I am so impressed with your work.Watercolours are such a hard medium to work with but you've totally mastered and used them to full power.

  2. Azra - thank you very much. I'm plugging along with the watercolors. It's still very hit or miss with me . . . but painting close to every day has helped a great deal. The past two weeks have been a bit hectic for me, but next week things should settle down so I can get back into my routine. The New England (finally) summer-like weather helps too! Thanks again and happy painting! :)
