I just updated my "workshops" page above and listed all the new classes I'm offering at Workshop13 in Ware over the course of the next few months.  I hope that you will take a look and find something that interests you.  I'd love to meet you!

Please feel free to "like" and "share" this on Facebook . . . "the more the merrier," I always say.  :)

Workshop Updates

"The Group"
(and someone was celebrating a birthday with a day of watercolors and wine -- what a neat gift!)

I had a wonderful day with my class at the Hardwick Winery yesterday.  Everyone did a fantastic job.  We shared good wine, good snacks and good fellowship while hopefully learning a few things about watercolor and most importantly having fun.  If you are interested in joining me for another "Watercolors and Wine" outing -- see my workshop page on the top navigation bar.  I'll be holding another class on November 17th.  This will be my last class before the Spring.

If a longer course is what you're looking for, consider signing up for my upcoming 5-week class at Workshop13 in Ware.  I've also listed this class under "Workshops" on my navigation bar.

So now I'm off to paint.  Many thanks to my terrific students yesterday and thank you to you all too, for stopping by my blog.  Have a great day.  (more pics below)

McReavey's and Student Work

McReavey's Barn
6" x 8"
(watercolor on cradled aquabord)
starting bid:  $95

stained sides -- ready to hang or display

I did a little bit of tweaking today and put McReavey's up for auction on DPW.  I also did some more work on the basket, but far too little to photograph and post.  I'll be sure to do that tomorrow.

But in other news, we just finished week 3 of my 5 week watercolor workshop here at my studio and my students are well on their way to finishing up some wonderful paintings (as you can see below).  I'm already planning my next workshop . . . it will be something on aquabord.  So stay tuned and if you're interested in attending, keep checking my workshop link at the top of the page for when I post more information or please email me and I will send you out a notice when I firm up my plans.

Aren't these wonderful?  I'm so proud of my students!  Thank you for stopping by.

What A January!!

"Oh Boy . . . Christmas is Coming!"
8" x 10"
watercolor on aquabord

I'm happy to report that January is officially over and hopeful that it has taken all the germs with it!  Good grief!  For those of you who follow this blog, you may have noticed my absence last week.  Well right after I finished this commission and taught a 5-hour workshop at the Concord Art Association I came down with the stomach bug.  Nothing like chasing a headcold with good virus.  Oy!  Every few years it seems I get knocked for a loop and I guess this is just one of those years.

Anyway . . . I'm finally back in business so here's the finished product of the Christmas dogs.  They really do put a smile on your face, don't they?  :)  And I'm happy to report the painting was very well-received by the doggies' owners -- it was a birthday gift from my friend to his wife and she was very surprised.  So now I've got lots of catching up to do in the studio if I want to get back on track with some of my 2013 goals . . . ahhhh life really is an adventure, eh?  Stay healthy out there -- it's a jungle of germs!  Ciao for now.

Two New Workshops!

Happy Monday to you all!

I just wanted to share with you, two workshops that I'll be conducting at the end of January. The first one is at the Concord Art Association in Concord, MA (explanation below). In case you are in the area, are an artist, read blogs, but just haven't yet taken the plunge yourself into blogging or creating an online presence and would like to, please come and join us in learning how to set up a blog. I will be sharing all I know with regards to re-sizing images, and the free, online sources for doing so, simple design principles for web and print, setting up a free blog on blogger, and other inexpensive or free, thought-provoking ways for baby-stepping your way into creating a brand and online presence.

The second workshop is a 5-week class at my studio for people who would like to learn how to paint with watercolors. This class will walk you through my process for painting. You can click on the "workshops" link on the navigation bar above for more information.

While the internet presents artists with many opportunities for selling art, connecting with other artists, and providing inspiration, it can also be a very intimidating process. In this workshop we will eliminate your apprehension by presenting practical ways for artists to connect with potential customers and other artists through blogging, online art-groups and Facebook. Bring your laptop with a few digital images of your art and learn simple rules to create a well-designed, easy-to-navigate blog and online gallery so that purchasing your art is only a click away!

Workshop

I finally got my act together and have organized the small class I am offering in my studio beginning in a few weeks.  I'm limiting the class to 4 and already have two students signed up but there are two more available slots.  More information on what to expect and what supplies are needed can be found under the page "workshops" located on the navigation bar above.  I think this will be fun and I'll be sure to post how it all turns out.  Hopefully I'll have permission to show some student examples.

Unfortunately I have no painting updates to post.  I caught a cold and so I've been lying low.  It's actually working out because I have lots of computer stuff to work on and I can do that in bed with my laptop!

Thank you for stopping by.
